Forged Solutions Group reveals $1m investment at River Don hammer forge facility

Forged Solutions Group has made a substantial investment of $1 million at its River Don site in Sheffield, refurbishing integral equipment to improve performance and results for customers worldwide.

The Group has carried out a full refurbishment of its 25 Ton Beche Counterblow Hammer, equipment that is key to the company’s in-house forging capability, serving a range of OEMs across the globe.

Whilst the equipment is ordinarily maintained via planned maintenance, the group wanted to improve the long-term reliability and performance of the equipment, and therefore decided to take it offline to make substantial improvements. This includes improving certain EHS aspects of the equipment, the overall unit alignment, and replacement or upgrade of most of the structural parts. The refurbishment has also resulted in fewer emissions and along with improved noise control.

Tamas Papp, General Manager at Forged Solutions Group, commented:
“This investment is a significant milestone for our River Don facility and is a clear sign of the commitment we have to our existing and new customers. As a result of this project, the 25T Beche Counterblow Hammer has been refurbished and assembled using our extensive internal and external engineering capability network to give an increased level of long-term confidence to all stakeholders.”
