NDT Inspector MH Job Summary:

Have the necessary skills to set up and calibrate equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate results for acceptance or rejection in accordance with approved work instructions, quality standards and to document results. Heavily involved in Teamwork, EHS, and Continuous Improvement.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Always enforce and practice a high standard of health and safety and ensure plant is operated safely
  • Have familiarity with the scope and limitations of the NDT method for which they are certified
  • Have extensive knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technologies
  • Process parts including preparation, before or after inspection
  • Select appropriate technique for the NDT method to be performed
  • Prepare written instructions and techniques for NDT inspection
  • Understand NDT standards and specifications and translate into working instructions
  • Interpret and evaluate results in relation to acceptance standards and specifications
  • Organise and report test results
  • Clearly identify defective products and produce reports
  • Ensure good communication within the team
  • To undertake additional training as part of a multi-disciplined inspection team
  • Undertake other tasks within the scope of your expertise as required

Experience and Qualifications

Essential – You will able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of forged and wrought product in the Aerospace, Power Generation and Off Highway sectors ideally with the qualifications below:

  • NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level II in Magnetic Particle Inspection
  • NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level II in Penetrant Inspection
  • NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level II in Contact Ultrasonic
  • NDT Visual Inspection

Despatch Operative PP 40 hours/week

06:00 – 18:00
(predominantly 10:00 to 06:00).
Job Summary:
To provide support primarily for the Machine shop department including management of incoming and completed inventory, emptying / swarf of machines, and Logistics Department including packaging, marking and moving components/parts around the site. Preparing sale parts for shipping to customers and parts being sent to subcontract suppliers. Loading and unloading of parts from transport vehicles, whilst observing and maintaining health and safety standards always. Ensuring all necessary documentation for goods received and despatched is completed correctly. The Despatch Operative needs to have the ability to respond to the needs of the business, embrace change and be flexible when training to perform other duties to cover holiday, sickness, etc.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Moving inventory to machines and away from machines – ensure machines are always supplied with the next component
  • Skip emptying / Swarf out machines
  • Coolant management and topping up
  • Packaging for Internal and external shipments
  • Assisting with the management of the MIFIN (Mark, Pack and Finish of Parts for Sale readying for shipping to customers) and MREL (Mark and Release) buckets.
  • Ensure parts and shipping paperwork is prepared correctly and in advance ready for despatch on time including printing address labels and bar codes as required.
  • Ensure proof of despatch (i.e. shipping notes and despatch notes) are signed at the point of despatch by the relevant transport drivers.
  • Maintain and update despatch records to meet the needs of other departments.
  • Loading and unloading of transport vehicles.
  • Receiving goods and materials, including weighing, checking and processing documentation.
  • Complete WIP booking for work undertaken by the Export Department.
  • Stock management.
  • Responding to customer and freight forwarders queries quickly and effectively.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Help deliver the ESH improvement / Machine uptime.
  • Daily Dock and WTL adherence.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Mechanical Bias X 2 DD Shift Pattern D-15 12 Hour Shifts Job Summary
An apprentice trained maintenance engineer with experience of working in a medium to heavy engineering environment. The position will involve carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance duties on a variety of machinery and equipment. Continual improvement and the use of RCA to improve the equipment OEE will be an essential pre-requisite for this position. Willingness to work overtime and differing shifts pattern is also required.

Key Objectives of the Role:

  • Ensure all PPM tasks are completed on time and to the required standards.
  • Use RCA to identify true cause of failures and report corrective action necessary.
  • Improve plant OEE by ensuring issues are dealt with in a swift and effective manner with an effective first-time fix.
  • Ensure all departmental documentation is completed on time and to company standards.
  • Develop the PPM system for key items of plant in conjunction with the maintenance planner to improve plant OEE.
  • Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
  • Rapid response to customers’ demands with a quick diagnosis of the issue and an effective fix.
  • Develop and recommend solutions to improve equipment availability to Maintenance Manager
  • Ensure all work undertaken is done via the company safety rules and procedures including the undertaking of risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, and safe lock off procedures.
  • Be aware of incident reports and work with operational managers to promptly implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • To co-operate readily on the development and implementation of autonomous maintenance (TPM).
  • To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested.

The Applicant:

  • Apprentice trained (mandatory).
  • Able to read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic engineering drawings.
  • Ability to logically fault find.
  • Worked with lock out, tag out procedures
  • Working with a CMMS.
  • High level of understanding of pneumatics & hydraulics.
  • Worked with CNC machines, Lathes, NDT processes or forge industry.
  • Basic fabrication experience.

  • Worked in a medium to heaving factory environment.
  • Experience of dealing with demanding customers.
