Main Purpose of Job:
The post holder is required to work across all Front End operations functions including saws, forge and tooling. The individual must be able to respond quickly to the needs of the business and embrace change through team working, effective housekeeping, flexibility and continuous improvement.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
 To perform the Front-End Operations as required across the Open die forging, Closed die forging, Rings forging, Forge press, hydraulic press, saws and tooling.
 Work to the agreed Standard Operating Procedures – Methods of Manufacture as outlined in the quality manual.
 Practice and Enforce a high standard of Health and Safety at all times and ensure that the plant is operated safely
 Ensure that training/coaching is delivered to all new operators and that they are fully conversant with front end operations
 Maintain housekeeping of the area to a high standard and embrace the 5S Programme on a daily basis
 Ensure all equipment is run efficiently and effectively to meet production requirements, whether in billet or part form
 To ensure all Work Safe instructions and Operating procedures are followed at all times.
 Responsible including loading and unloading of the saws and reporting breakdowns to the relevant department
 Ensure all paperwork/route cards in relation to the department is correctly compiled, stamped and booked off in accordance with procedures
 Ensure that furnace loading charts and inspection sheets are correctly completed when operating that task and ensure the furnace chart is marked with reference to time of start and finish of each job
 Maintain the daily TPM programme and equipment pre-use check.
 Redeployment to alternative work if required and Any other adhoc duties as required

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join our Technical team at our Blaenavon Site in South Wales. We are looking for a highly self-motivated and flexible individual with the ability to challenge the status quo.

Summary of the role:
• Responsible for design of the production route for manufacturing of forged products.
• Management of the product design from drawing (or concept) through to customer approval.

Principle Accountabilities:
• Design of dies, tools and relevant ancillary fixtures for manufacturing of products
• Creation and interpretation of engineering drawings
• Ability to create and utilise CAD models (within Siemens NX)
• Utilise FEA simulation software for product design
• Technical liaison with suppliers for relevant product design requirements (i.e. tooling, forge dies, etc.)
• Customer technical liaison (where necessary)
• Provide Design support for New Product enquiries at the estimating stage. (E.g. proposed inputs, equipment, and methods.

Essential Experience / Qualifications:
• Undergraduate in an Engineering Discipline, BTEC (or relevant aligned qualifications) with supporting experience and qualifications (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
• Previous manufacturing design experience working within a business that produces precision engineered products, in a highly regulated industry, preferably from the Aerospace or Oil & Gas sectors.

Working Hours Summary
Monday to Thursday, (8:30am to 5:00pm) and Friday (8:30am to 2:30pm) with a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day. A total of 37.5 hours per week.

Job Summary
The Technical Apprentice is an entry level role aimed at developing the post holder to succeed in progressive roles within the business. Job Summary
To support operations with etch inspection of parts, metallurgical assessment and evaluation of product requiring testing.

Key Objectives of the Role
• Release inspection and certification of product requiring etch evaluation.
• Carry out annual performance exams.
• Metallographic preparation and examination of metallic materials to relevant procedures and specifications, including window micro and replica assessment of structures.

Technical and Quality Manager DD X1 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary:
Responsible for the development and ongoing management of the Technical Department at the Darley Dale site that includes Design, Metallurgy, Quality Systems, Quality Engineering, Pyrometry and Product Certification teams. Also responsible for developing and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with the Quality Standards stipulated by the company and any statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to the business. To ensure the ideals within Forged Solutions code of Conduct are upheld within the Technical Department and to maintain the continuous improvement philosophy within the department in alignment with the cascade of goals and objectives.

Key Objectives of the Role
 Ensure new products are designed and validated to ensure ongoing producibility with a target of zero defects.
 Develop process understanding across the business to reduce process variability and improve right first-time processing of parts.
 Apply proven problem-solving techniques to identify root cause of product deviations and ensure actions taken to correct are embedded into the business systems.

Job Summary
An apprentice trained maintenance engineer with experience of working in a medium to heavy engineering environment. The position will involve carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance duties on a variety of machinery and equipment. Continual improvement and the use of RCA to improve the equipment OEE will be an essential pre-requisite for this position. Willingness to work overtime and differing shifts pattern is also required.

• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
• Rapid response to customers’ demands with a quick diagnosis of the issue and an effective fix.
• Develop and recommend solutions to improve equipment availability to Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure all work undertaken is done via the company safety rules and procedures
• including the undertaking of risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, and safe lock off procedures.
• Be aware of incident reports and work with operational managers to promptly implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
• To co-operate readily on the development and implementation of autonomous maintenance (TPM).
• To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested.

The Applicant:
• Apprentice trained (mandatory).
• Able to read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic engineering drawings.
• Ability to logically fault find.
• Worked with lock out, tag out procedures
• Working with a CMMS.
• High level of understanding of pneumatics & hydraulics.
• Worked with CNC machines, Lathes, NDT processes or forge industry.
• Basic fabrication experience. Good problem-solving and organisation skills.
• Worked in a medium to heaving factory environment.
• Experience of dealing with demanding customers.

Desirable:
• CNC Fault finding and repairs.
• Forging industry experience.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office to intermediate level or above.
• Appreciation of PLCs.
• Familiar with Burning/welding.
• Familiar with Shot-blast machines.
• Overhead Crane Training (Max. 5 Years).
• Abrasive Wheel Training (Max. 5 Years).
• Mobile Tower Scaffold Training (Max. 5 Years).
• First Aid Training (Max 3 Years).
• Fire Warden Training (Max. 5 Years)
• Mobile Elevated Working Platform Training (Max. 5 Years).
• Working in Confined Spaces Training (Max. 5 Years).
• Confined Space Rescue Training (Max. 5 Years).
• Working at Height Training (Max. 5 Years).
• Work at Height Rescue Training (Max. 5 Years).
